New Project to Milestones Wizard

Use the wizard to import from Project (with or without Project installed), Primavera (XML and XER) and other products using Project XML.   The Wizard offers four main choices, shown below.

New: Import from Primavera XER

Primavera’s preferred method of exchanging project information with other products is the XER format.  Milestones Professional can now import directly from this format.  There are two options for importing.  Use either the Project to Milestones Wizard, or Milestones Professional’s Custom Import.

New Quick View Option

With our new Quick View option, you can quickly import an MPP, XER, or XML file to see most of the contents of that file:

4k Monitor Support Improved

The days of VGA, SuperVGA and even 1024 are over!   4K monitors are now very common, even on laptops.  Especially for these hi-res monitors an option has been added to increase the font size of Milestones Professional’s toolbar:

Symbol Number Overlays

Have a very dense schedule with symbols on many levels of each task row?  Now it’s easy to visually tell which actual row your symbols are on.

In the example below, it’s easy to see where the symbols belong.

Font Increase/Decrease Buttons Added

We have added font size increase and decrease buttons to most toolbars. They will set the font size to the next or previous available size in the dropdown and refresh the screen.

Easily Manage Task Row Overrides

A new “Manage” option has been added to the Tools | manage dropdown menu:

Options added to make managing symbols easier

An option was added to the Manage Symbols dialog that lets you remove the hide vertical connections overrides for all symbols at once:

Center Text on Bar with Hidden Start Date

In prior versions, when “center text on bar” was chosen, the text was centered on the bar even if that meant the symbol text might be off the visible part of the schedule.

Skip Empty Tasks when Numbering

Now if you use a Task Number column, you can tell Milestones to skip certain rows when calculating the task number.

Undo and Redo added to Sidebar Shortcuts

It is now possible to have both Undo and Redo shortcuts in the sidebar. They are visible by default:

New Internet Publishing Option

A new option in the Internet Publishing Wizard allows you to set an option that make symbol hyperlinks open in new tabs or windows in the browser instead of overlaying the current page:

Insert a Toolbox Row Into the Legend

If you are using the standard toolbox you can select a row in the Toolbox and then right-click to insert that row into the Legend:
